Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of milatalearning.com and the purchase of instruction and curriculum from Milata LLC (“Milata LLC”, “we”). By enrolling a student or purchasing curriculum you agree to them, together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund, Attendance & Cancellation Policy, and the Child Safety & Online Classroom Policy.

Services

We provide live online group classes, private lessons, and a digital self-paced curriculum for TK–12 students. Every class is open to every student; placement conversations are advisory only. All instruction and materials are secular and non-sectarian.

Enrollment and payment

Charter-school funded enrollment. A seat is confirmed when your school’s purchase order (or enrichment certificate) is received. We invoice the school after services are delivered, within the purchase order, at the same public price shown on our Pricing page. We do not accept deposits or advance payments from families for PO-funded services. Private-pay enrollment. Payment is due before the first session of a semester (or session package). One free trial class per family; trials are never billed.

Live sessions are recorded for the enrolled family’s use. California is an all-party consent state: by enrolling, the parent or guardian consents to recording on the student’s behalf, and instructors consent as a condition of employment. Recordings are handled as described in the Child Safety & Online Classroom Policy.

Intellectual property

Curriculum, lesson materials, recordings, and this website are the intellectual property of Milata LLC. Families may use materials for the enrolled student’s personal education during the licence term and may not copy, share, or resell them. Self-paced curriculum licences are per family, per school year.

Acceptable use

Students and families agree to the classroom conduct rules in the Child Safety & Online Classroom Policy. We may remove a student from a session for conduct that endangers or disrupts others; repeated issues are discussed with the parent and, for charter students, the school.

Limitation of liability

Milata LLC provides instruction with reasonable care but does not guarantee any particular grade, credit award, proficiency level, or school approval. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the services in question, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under California law.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, unless both parties agree in writing to mediation or arbitration first.

Changes

We may update these terms; the version and effective date appear above, and material changes are announced to enrolled families before they take effect. Contact: hello@milatalearning.com.
