Child Safety & Online Classroom Policy
Every Milata LLC instructor teaches under these rules. They are published so families and schools can hold us to them.
Instructor screening and training
- DOJ LiveScan background clearance under each partner school’s ORI before any student contact.
- California mandated reporter training completed every year; instructors know how and when to report.
- Instructors are employees of Milata LLC and agree to this policy in writing.
Classroom conduct
- Sessions take place only in the scheduled video classroom, with the waiting room enabled and the instructor admitting participants.
- No private one-to-one messaging, calls, social-media contact, or gift exchange between instructors and students outside the classroom platform. Communication with families goes through the parent’s email.
- Instructors use respectful, age-appropriate language, keep cameras on, and never ask a child for personal information beyond the lesson.
- Private lessons are always recorded.
Recording
- Group and private sessions are recorded; a recording indicator is visible in class.
- Recordings are available only to the enrolled family and to Milata LLC for quality and safety review, are stored with restricted access, and are deleted 90 days after the end of the semester.
- Parents consent to recording at enrollment (see the Terms of Service on all-party consent).
Parents
- Parents are welcome in any session and encouraged to sit in for TK–2 learners.
- Parents receive the class link directly; students do not create accounts with Milata LLC.
Reporting a concern
Email hello@milatalearning.com or write to the instructor’s supervisor at the same address; concerns are acknowledged within one business day. Suspected abuse or neglect is reported by our instructors as mandated reporters, and any concern about an instructor is escalated to the family’s school.
